The Audiobook: Exmas
\n\nIntroduction
\n\nThis Christmas, forget about Santa Claus. Instead, get ready for a visit from Reed York, a man in a suit who is about to turn Joa Jolivet's world upside down. In this audiobook, written by Winter Renshaw and narrated by Winter Renshaw, Joa's life takes an unexpected turn when Reed, who was never her boyfriend but more like a colleague with benefits, steals her promotion and becomes her boss overnight. Fueled by betrayal, Joa moves 2,014 miles away to Chicago, trying to forget the mesmerizing effect Reed had on her.\n\nReed York vs. Joa Jolivet
\n\nReed York and Joa Jolivet may have had a complicated relationship, but there's no denying the undeniable chemistry between them. They were colleagues who couldn't stand each other, yet secretly enjoyed their unique arrangement. Until Reed crossed the line and snatched Joa's promotion right from under her. This act of treachery left Joa with no choice but to transfer to the Chicago division to escape Reed's presence.\n\nMutual Attraction
\n\nWhile Joa resented Reed for his betrayal, deep down, she couldn't deny her attraction to him. From his mesmerizing ocean eyes to his pantie-melting smirk, Reed had a way of lighting up every room he entered. Joa, determined to move on, tried to remind herself of the reasons she disliked him. But even as she pushed him away, her feelings lingered.\n\nA Last-Minute Surprise
\n\nJust when Joa thinks she's put Reed and their complicated history behind her, he announces a last-minute site visit during the week between Christmas and New Year's. Not only that, but he also designates Joa as his "right-hand gal" for the duration of his visit. This unexpected turn of events throws Joa for a loop and reopens old wounds.\n\nJoa's Revenge
\n\nJoa is determined not to let Reed back into her good graces. She refuses to be swayed by his charm or his seemingly effortless ability to get everything he wants. Reed may think he can put Joa on his Christmas list, but she knows better. Naughty boys like Reed only deserve coal.\n\nAbout Winter Renshaw

What are some user reviews about this audiobook?
1. I found this book a little confusing and quit after the first couple of hours, I will try again at a later date. Logan McAllister did a good job with the narration. 2. Not a bad second chance romance. It did bounce around a lot but the issue I had was distinguishing between the two voices and that's due to the narrator and maybe the author could have titled the chapters as the voices changed? 3. I was lost after thirty minutes listening to this story. I didn’t even know or understand the story. I got lost and lose interest so I gave up. The narrator was good but I didn’t know where the story was going. Weird. 4. If you like Winter Renshaw, you will like this story. I had a hard time with the narrator. His voice is nice, but he doesn't do a good female voice. It was hard to relate to the female character with his narration. 5. This novel is called The Executive on Amazon’s Kindle and EXMAS on Audible. It’s my first novel by this author. It’s a second chance romance written with some back and forth between the past and the present. Interestingly, the author’s note in the beginning gives the reader/listener the option of skipping the sections set in the past as the balance of the story flows fine without the past. I chose to listen to the whole story. The story takes place in a then and now format. I liked the heroine from the start, but for a lot of the book, I didn’t like the hero. In regard to the past romance, I needed more build-up to the first kiss that led to the couple’s physical relationship. I think that’s because the hero was portrayed as a man who closed himself off emotionally from the heroine. She on the other hand, was an open book to him. In the present, he’s pursuing her, hoping to win her back. He had some grovelling to do as far as I was concerned. When the hero’s reasons and motivations for his past behaviour were revealed, it all made sense and I was happy this couple united, but I wished I’d known some personal details earlier so I could sympathise with the hero sooner. When the hero showed his vulnerability and emotion, it was heart-warming. Overall, this romance was OK. Logan McAllister is a great narrator, but the story is told from dual points of view. I sometimes had to check whose point of view I was hearing. I feel in this case the audio needed a female narrator for the heroine’s point of view. But that’s just me. It was still fine with one narrator. 6. Couldn't even make it through 10 minutes because the male narrator's voice was just not believable as a female. Did not work AT ALL. 7. See above opinion - NOT criticism to Mr. McAllistet, who did a great job. Just that a female voice for the f. POV would have been nice. 8. Reed is both peak and Valley. This story is composed of current day timelines with flashbacks to almost every chapter. It sounds way more complicated than it is. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me, it works. My heart went out to Reed for so many reasons, he will definitely give you the feels. Logan was fabulous as always! He voices so many characters in a way that allows you to get lost in the story.
